AUS community extends help to Nepal earthquake survivors

Members of the American University of Sharjah (AUS) community joined hands in raising funds for the survivors of the devastating earthquake in Nepal that caused widespread destruction in Kathmandu and the surrounding region. The campaign, held from May 12 to 18 on campus, was aimed at providing for the immediate needs of affected families, such as food, water and shelter.

"The Nepal Earthquake Relief Campaign is our response to support the worldwide effort of providing immediate relief to those affected by this natural catastrophe. I thank the AUS community for its generous contributions and to our student volunteers for their efforts in making this campaign a successful one," said Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Dean of Students.

The campaign was organized by the AUS Office of Student Affairs' Community Services Division in collaboration with Emirates Red Crescent. All proceeds were handed over to Emirates Red Crescent.
