Students take part in Alleem Project Management Congress
Three AUS students participated in the Eighth Alleem Project Management Congress held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Radisson Blu Hotel in Sharjah.
Organized by Alleem Knowledge Center, the congress discussed the effects of globalization and increased competition in today's markets. It also explored how organizations needed to adopt the nine knowledge areas of project management to enable them to do different things at the right times to produce the desired results. Presentations by various experts and professionals from the field covered many topics, including the problem solving cycle, project budgeting, monitoring and controlling projects, the framework of project management, project finance and the project life cycle.
The student participants were Ahmed Mahmoud Abouelyousr and Mohamed Al-Khanchi majoring in civil engineering and Anas Qawasmeh majoring in finance. They were nominated by the Office of Student Affairs' Student Leadership Program.
"Attending Alleem Project Management Congress was very informative and had speakers addressing various aspects of project management, which broadened my knowledge in this field," said Abouelyousr.
"It is beneficial for students to take part in various conferences to better understand the market from a professionals' point of view. Such conferences help students network with experts in the field that share their real-life experience and ideal solutions to various business situations. Considering that the economy around us is changing rapidly, we encourage more students to seek such opportunities in preparation for their career paths," said Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Dean of Students.
