Student Leadership Program holds Leaders Edutainment Day
The Office of Student Affairs' Student Leadership Program held its second Leaders Edutainment Day, as part of the Emerging Leaders Program, on February 29.
Designed to help freshmen develop their leadership and communication skills, the event gave them the opportunity to work as a team and understand the importance of effective communication. Through these activities, the freshmen can realize their leadership potential, become more self-aware and develop an enhanced set of personal skills with a strategic understanding of leadership.
Wajih Khalil, a freshman majoring in electrical engineering, said, "I believe that the Leaders Edutainment Day is one of the most enjoyable events, and I highly recommend it to every freshman. It's a starting point to becoming a leader. I truly enjoyed it; I made new friends and developed my leadership skills."
"The Office of Student Affairs' Student Leadership Program is dedicated to help students maximize their personal potential by providing opportunities for leadership development. Leaders Edutainment Day was developed to support freshmen at AUS and encourage them to become involved in university programs and activities. This event is unique; it nurtures the development of critical thinking and helps students internalize and understand their vision," said Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
The first Leaders Edutainment Day was held in Fall 2011.
