Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences (BCE)
BCE faculty members pursue exciting interdisciplinary work linking environment, health and technology.
Examples include our research in environmental biology, ecosystems management, environmental protection, species conservation, physiology, microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, nutrition and immunology. Professors in chemistry specialize in general, physical, organic or inorganic studies as well as in material science and nanotechnology. BCE researchers excel at the use of analytical and instrumental methods to conduct experiments relevant to the needs of the Gulf region, in areas as diverse as wastewater and solid waste management, health studies, food microbiology, marine ecology and chemical remediation.
Specific research and practical expertise are available in these areas:
BCE laboratories are equipped with advanced, state-of-the-art instrumentation. These facilities are available to support a variety of research studies in health, biology, chemistry and environmental analysis.
