Two MCM Students Receive Sharjah Visual Story Award

CAS  >  Departments  >  Mass Communication  >  About  >  Our Students  >  Two MCM Students Receive Sharjah Visual Story Award

MCM students Dana Bou Fakhreddine and Kateryna Kadabashy have won one Abdee Visual Report Prize in the best visual report category.  Dana received the award in a ceremony attended by His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassemi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council at Al Qassemia University Auditorium. Representatives of participating universities as well as students attended the event.

The students’ work is about the Sharjah Wasit Wetland Center which has become a significant touristic destination in Sharjah. The reserve, once a dumping waste ground, has been recently converted into a vibrant habitat for a wide range of birds and plants.  The report pays tribute to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qassemi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah,  for embracing nature and environmental sustainability as a key pillar of development in the Sharjah Emirate.

Dr. Hania Nashef, Associate Professor at the MCM Department,  mentored both Kateryna and Dana for this competition.
