MCM hosts du #PostWisely campaign presentation

The Department of Mass Communication (MCM) hosted a presentation by du on its nationwide #PostWisely campaign to raise awareness about sharing content online. Abdulwahed Juma, Executive Vice President for Brand and Corporate Communication shared du’s videos on how to avoid potential legal and ethical problems when sharing information online. He noted that respecting others’ privacy is a big challenge facing social media users in the UAE and beyond. He added that while social media provide opportunities for virtual community engagement, they also present challenges in areas such as invasion of privacy and cyberbullying.  He told MCM students that this #PostWisely campaign is part of du’s corporate social responsibility towards the community to safeguard cyberspace against potential abuses.
